Carson-Newman, a Christian university, has been recognized as a leading liberal arts institution by U.S. News, Forbes.com and The Princeton Review. In March, the U.S. Department of Education and the Corporation for National and Community Service announced that C-N earned the Presidential Award (for General Community Service) in the 2012 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. Carson-Newman's community service footprint totaled 275,000 service hours in the 2010-2011 academic year. Newsweek has likewise cited C-N as the country's leader in community service and second among "Most Service Oriented" schools. For more information, see www.cn.edu.
